01 / Weekly planning

The whole week.
Every moving part.

See your people, shifts, and absences in one clear weekly grid. Assign work to a process, or a specific step when you need more detail. Skills and planning stay together, so everyday changes take less back-and-forth.

  • Multiple assignments within the same day
  • Shift times, including overnight work
  • Copy assignments forward with conflict checks
  • Review future assignments when eligibility changes

02 / Qualifications & eligibility

Confidence in
every assignment.

Adding process skills should feel as straightforward as describing the work. Name a process, add any steps, and record which people are qualified for each one. Keep general skills and certificates alongside them, clearly separate, with required certificates checked when planning.

  • Qualifications tied to real operations and process steps
  • Process coverage based on qualified active capabilities
  • Inherited requirements across areas and operations
  • Invalid assignments blocked during planning

Your own skills catalogue

The skills you need.
Not a fixed list.

Your site administrator can freely add the generic skills and certificates your team uses. First aid, forklift training, a hot-work permit, or a skill specific to your business—make the catalogue your own.

  • Add your own skill names to your site’s shared catalogue
  • Record those skills against the relevant people
  • Add validity dates only for skills that expire
  • Make a skill mandatory for an area or process when needed

Generic skills stay separate from process qualifications. One clear place to see both, without mixing them up.

A reusable, site-specific catalogue. Your administrators keep it organised; planners assign skills to the people they manage.

03 / Cross-area allocation

Your workforce.
Working together.

Temporarily loan qualified workers to another area within their home site. Keep home-area ownership clear while giving destination teams a view of the people assigned to them.

  • Same-site loans across production areas
  • Clear borrowed-worker context for planners
  • Daily and weekly allocation summaries
  • Role and area boundaries applied to every view

04 / Operational structure

Grounded in
your operation.

Start with your site and its areas. Add the processes your team carries out, then add individual steps only when useful. Each process or step becomes a clear skill you can record against a worker. Use familiar names, keep it practical, and build from there.

  • Multiple sites within one organization
  • Site-specific shifts and skill catalogues
  • Organization, site, planner, and viewer roles
  • Separate administration and planning authority

A few things to know

Clarity, from the start.

Can we add our own skills?

Yes. Your site or organisation administrator can create a site-specific catalogue of generic skills and certificates, rather than choosing from a fixed list. Planners can then assign those skills to the people they manage. Process skills are recorded separately against the actual processes and steps your team performs.

Is Verken only for large manufacturers?

No. Our aim is to make modern workforce intelligence accessible and affordable for teams of all sizes. Start with a clear view of your people, skills, and plans. Get in touch to discuss your team and pricing; we haven’t published fixed prices on this website.

Does Verken automatically build the schedule?

The core product is designed for manual planning with eligibility checks. AI-assisted scheduling, optimization, and automated schedule proposals are on the roadmap and marked “Coming soon.” Future proposals will require human confirmation.

Can workers be assigned across different sites?

The core scope supports temporary assignments between areas within a worker's home site. Cross-site workforce assignments are outside the current scope.

How are skills different from process qualifications?

Process qualifications describe the concrete operations or process steps a worker can perform. Generic skills and certifications, such as a forklift certificate, are maintained in a separate site catalogue and can be required for particular areas or processes.

Is this an HR or payroll system?

Verken focuses on manufacturing workforce planning, qualifications, and allocation. Payroll, general HR administration, and ERP functionality are outside the core product scope.
